CNG Station network in Stavropol Region, Russia

Sustainability Excellence by FornovoGas and CNG Stations Development in the Stavropol region

In the Stavropol region, transport switches to Natural Gas Fuel: CNG station network is growing thanks to  Gazprom & FornovoGas partnership.

More than 20 natural gas filling stations 70.000 km2 area served – operating 24/7.

Fornovogas Compressors 2 DA300 90kW.

THE PROJECT

From the first running day,  the new CNG station in the Stavropol Territory serves dozens of cars daily. And the same is on each of the twenty CNG stations in the region. Why? This is a leading region in Russia in the development of gas stations network: many enterprises in the agricultural and transport field switched to gas engine fuel. In addition, Stavropol is a large transit hub through which many vehicles from other regions pass. As a result, there are big savings on fuel costs for consumers and the rational use of the capacity of each station – more than 60% of the load (of the possible capacity of CNG filling stations) with about 30% on average in Russia. For private customers, the EcoGas Club bonus program is available: for each cubic meter of natural gas, one EcoBonus, equal to half of the ruble, is credited to the participant’s card. The EcoGas Club card reduces of 50% the cost of refueling a car at Gazprom stations in the Stavropol Territory.

CUSTOMER PARTNERSHIP

In the Stavropol Region, a fairly large percentage of commercial vehicles have already been converted to natural gas – and this is an ongoing trend in recent years. The CNG network Gazprom Gazomotornoe Toplivo is growing every year. The increase of regular customers is also associated with the creation of “gas-engine corridors” – routes along which CNG filling stations are installed, which contributes to the development of natural gas transit between regions. The company Gazprom installed Fornovo Gas compressors in its stations in Russia. Of course, the high demand for stations requires reliability and continuity of the CNG filling station network – that is why it was decided to install Fornovo Gas compressors. In the South of Russia, the maintenance of this equipment is widely developed and economical, especially because Stavropol Territory is not the first region in which the CNG station network is developing,  above all thanks to Russian-Italian cooperation between Gazprom and Fornovo Gas.

FORNOVOGAS SUPPLY AND TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

Each CNG station works 24/7 and can refuel about 300 cars daily. Two 2DA300 90kW Fornovo Gas compressors are installed at each station, with a total capacity of 2000 m3 / h. CNG stations with Fornovo Gas compressors were built in Novoaleksandrovsk, Svetlograd, Ipatovo, Izobilny and Georgievsk. By the end of 2022, the Gazprom CNG network in the Stavropol Territory will be replenished with two new facilities. Modern gas filling stations will appear in the region of Mineralnye Vody.

FINAL OUTPUT

The expansion of the CNG filling station network in the Stavropol Territory has many advantages for consumers, among which there is not only economic efficiency. Natural gas as a fuel complies with Euro-6 standard, which means that the emission of toxic substances from carbon dioxide is radically reduced by 2–3 times compared with gasoline, by 10 times by carbon monoxide, and by 2 times by nitrogen oxides, smoke – 9 times, and soot, sulfur and lead compounds are completely absent. In addition, natural gas as a fuel for vehicles is safe. It is lighter than air and, in the event of a leak, evaporates without the formation of a dangerous mixture with air. High-quality compression and purification of natural gas by Fornovo Gas compressors also allows you to extend the life of the car engine, which is also one of the reasons for the steadily growing number of gas-powered vehicles in the region.
