Fornovo Gas Reduces Net CO₂eq Emissions by 60% in 2024

In 2024, Fornovo Gas reduced its net CO₂eq emissions by over 60% compared to the previous year. These results are extracted from our Carbon Footprint, a document that analyzes and measures the company’s environmental impact.

The improvement was made possible by a 252 kWp photovoltaic system and supporting a Sustainable Forest Management project in the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines, which offset 150 tons of CO₂.
Direct emissions decreased from 135 tons in 2023 to 103 tons in 2024, while net emissions dropped to 126 tons, compared to 312 tons in the previous year.
Fornovo Gas, as a Benefit Society, reaffirms its commitment to emission reduction and long-term sustainability.
For 2025, we anticipate new initiatives, including:

  • Expansion of photovoltaic energy.
  • Purchase of 100% renewable energy.
  • Support for local environmental protection projects, such as the one in the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines.

In the coming months, we will share detailed actions we will take to continue improving our environmental impact in 2025.
